Item:153261018291Antique Brass Redcoat 1780-1810 Foot Soldier Military at The American War of Independence a Very Early Casting, size 30.5cm tall, 18cm across the base, weight 1500 grams all sizes and weight are approximate. I am no expert and I have spent some time researching on the Internet, any help or advice would be appreciated, the top soldier part is a early very Ornate casting a thing of beauty, in his right hand he is carrying what looks like a riding crop, his left hand is resting on the stump of a tree and next to it is his sword, sabre, he is all buttoned up in full uniform. He's surrounded by trees, shrubs and flowers. There are no signs of fixings on the back only two lugs behind his feet where I think it's been cut where it was fixed to something else that probably broke. The base I think is an Antique later fixture to give him a firm base and doesn't detract from it's overall character, as to what he was before is anyone's guess but I am thinking an elaborate candelabra or candlestick, this uniform was used during the American War of Independence. This is mostly guesswork because I haven't a clue really ! Help. Some wear, nicks and bumps with some staining all commensurate with age. Please inspect the photos carefully as they form part of the description and please use the zoom facility, any questions please feel free to ask. I will only post to a UK private residence, I will not post overseas or to any Freight Forwarding Company or Agent for shipping to China, Russia or anywhere else in the World.
